What you need
- A fresh Ubuntu 24.04 LTS or 26.04 LTS server with root access. Any provider will do.
- 1 GB of memory and 2 GB of free disk, or more. The installer checks both and stops rather than half installing.
- A name pointing at the server, such as cp.example.com, for a real certificate and for hosting email. You can begin without one and add it later.
Nothing else. No account with us, no licence key, and no card for the free plan.
How you install it
One line, pasted into an SSH session as root. It asks you nothing: it works out the address to answer on, gives itself a certificate so the first page you open is already private, installs PHP, MariaDB and phpMyAdmin, and prints a single-use token for making your account.
The install page gives the command that day, and says what happens in the first ten minutes after it.

What do I need to run Dashmox?
A fresh Ubuntu 24.04 LTS or 26.04 LTS server with root access, at least 1 GB of memory and 2 GB of free disk, and a hostname pointing at it. Any provider works. The installer checks the memory and the disk and refuses rather than half installing. Ubuntu is what Dashmox installs on today; more Linux distributions are planned. Hosting email needs the server to have a name, not only an IP address.
What does the installer ask me?
Nothing. One command installs a working panel: it works out the address to answer on, gives itself a certificate, installs PHP, MariaDB and phpMyAdmin, and prints a single-use token to create your account with. The first time you sign in, a setup wizard asks for the rest, such as the name to answer on, a real certificate, email hosting, authoritative DNS, Node.js and container websites. Everything it offers can also be turned on later.
Is there a default password?
No. The installer shows a single-use setup token once. You open the panel, enter the token and create the owner account yourself.
If something here is wrong, missing or simply hard to follow, write to support@dashmox.com and it gets fixed. There is no wrong question to ask about your own server.
